How to compress a PDF without losing quality
Scanned pages and embedded photos make PDFs too large for email and portals. You can usually shrink them while keeping text readable.
Why PDF files get large
High-resolution scans, exported slides and photo-heavy reports inflate file size. Many forms reject anything above 100KB–2MB.
Steps
- Open Free Compress PDF.
- Choose the PDF on your device — it stays in your browser.
- Start with Medium compression.
- If still too large, try PDF to 100KB or PDF to 1MB.
- Open the result and confirm text is clear before submitting.
Quality tips
